Florian Eymann is a self-taught artist who was born in Auxerre, France in 1980. He is best known for his oil paintings through which he explores dark themes and experiments with form and content. Eymann’s works deconstruct and reinterpret the faces and expressions of the traditional portraiture, leading viewers to reconsider conventional standards of representation. Eymann employs explosive and abstract touches of paint to partially camouflage familiar images, leaving the viewer’s imagination to interpret the abstracted portions of the canvas.

In 2018, Eymann’s works were shown with Avant Gallery at the Art New York art fair and at SCOPE during Art Basel in Switzerland. The following year, Eymann’s work was shown with Avant Gallery at the Art Miami art fair. Eymann’s first U.S. solo show took place at Avant Gallery in New York in March of 2020.
